This traditional game is a fusion of two crafts, the lightweight, wooden pawns hand-crafted by our artisans from Channapatna and the beautiful mat, custom embroidered by Porgai, a producer group of Lambadi women from Sittilingi, Tamil Nadu.
Tusk vs Troops is a two player (or 2 teams) hunt and strategy game, inspired by the traditional South Indian board game Anay Kattu (Anay - elephant, Kattu - to tie down in Kannada). One player controls 4 elephants while the other player commands 48 soldiers. The objective is for the soldiers to tie down all the elephants while the elephants try to attack the soldiers. Popular in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, this timeless game tests logic, planning and survival.
