ABOUT THE CRAFT
In Kashmir, felted rugs and mats are called Namda, a word derived from Persian.
No Weaving, Just Pressing Felt is made by pressing and rolling layers of sheep’s wool with soapy water, no weaving or knitting involved.
A Mughal Story Legend says Namda was first made for Emperor Akbar, who wanted a warm rug for his horse.
Warmth That Lasts Namdas are valued for being warm, durable, and lightweight—perfect for cold Kashmiri winters.
Eco-Friendly Craft Wool offcuts and low-grade wool (often unusable for weaving) are repurposed into Namda rugs.
DIMENSIONS ~ 2 X 4 Feet
