The Channapatna craft is traditionally associated with making dolls for the Dasara festival, many of which imitated the daily village life around them. Over the years, many of these traditional dolls stories were lost in the glitz and glamour of their contemporary machine made counterparts. The scene depicted here is that of two village women pounding spices for their cooking.
We have tried to revive many of these tradiitonal dolls as they used to be made decades ago. Please note however that the colours used are not natural dyes. They are handpainted with non toxic colours. However these are best suited as decorative objects and not suitable for kids.
Please note that the colours may vary a little bit from the one in the pics.
