This product is a result of the ME to WE project, an initiative by A Hundred Hands, an NGO that encourages craftspeople across crafts, media and geographies to collaborate on design and innovation.
Mon Ami Foundation and Varnam Craft Collective bring in a new range of handmade designs that push the crafts forward. These designs are a playful symphony of two colourful and distinct crafts, Crochet and Channapatna Lac-turnery.
About the game
FISHY WISHY is an exciting game where kids use fishing rods to catch colourful, handcrafted fish. It promotes fine motor skills as children develop hand-eye coordination while aiming for the fish. The game fosters patience, focus and problem-solving as our little players strategize to catch the most amount of fishes. With its playful design, it also sparks creativity and curiosity. This game encourages healthy competition and helps children build social interaction skills
How to play this game?
Number of Players: 1 or more.
Setup: Loosen the crochet pouch completely to reveal a pond, drop all fishes inside the pond (as shown in the figure)
Gameplay:
Players will attempt to catch as many fishes from the little pond as possible using the fishing rod. When all fishes are caught, the game is over!
Winning Condition:
Player who catches the most number of fishes without using their hands and just the fishing rod, wins!
Make it more challenging!
Set a timer say 30 seconds or a minute to see who catches the most number of fishes!
Set Boundaries, add 'Obstacle zones' outside the pond, like waste plastic or paper. If a fish is dropped in that zone, the player loses a point. These zones can get bigger with each round.
Use blindfolds and make it more fun!
Give additional points for forming a pattern with the fishes!
