This lightweight doll is handmade by women from Padukas that was conceived as a social project of the NGO Shri Nityananda education trust. For the past 10 years, the Ngo has been working with the Warli tribe in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. The aim for starting it was to improve the capacity of the local tribal families to earn a livelihood from their Native art, sewing skills, and their innate ability to learn and master a new craft.
Indian fabrics scraps produced by the fashion Industry are collected, segregated, combined and hand stitched into beautiful objects of art by their team of seamstresses. Please note that the colour of the fabric might differ a bit from the pic.

To clean them soak them in cold water with a gentle light liquid detergent and then dry off. Best to handwash the clothes separately as some of them may lose colours.
